It's a Monday, and it's raining, so if you're a college student and you made it to classes—nay, a class even—then give yourself a gigantic pat on the back because you're doing okay for yourself. Now, I may not be able to help you get through whatever work is looming on the horizon, but . . .

To jump start your week, I thought I'd provide a little  i n s p i r a t i o n   b o a r d  made up of french female artists whose talents extend well beyond their primary focus as musicians. Each of these women exhibit a uniquely individualized style that just might inspire you to drag yourself out of bed tomorrow and head straight for the closet!

So here we go.

French musician, Francoise Hardy's style remains as timeless as her music. With a minimalistic make-up routine consisting primarily of   black eyeliner and perfectly disheveled bed-hair, this woman has clearly mastered the art of looking effortlessly chic.

Take notes, ladies, because the next time you wake up thirty minutes behind schedule—you can skip the part where you let loose a string of slurred profanitiesand instead take a breath and follow Hardy's easy, breezy look. It shouldn't take more than five minutes!

What supplies will you need?

+ black eye-liner
+ a nude or pink lip
  • Revlon "Mauve It Over" 003 Matte Lipstick
  • Revlon "Smoked Peach" 013 Matte Lipstick
+ Sea-salt spray (for loose, beachy locks)

And if you went to bed thinking you'd be able to get by one more day without washing your hair, only to look in the mirror the next morning in horror—try the look to the right! A thick, retro headband could be just the solution that you're looking for.

Pair it with a denim button up, and voilà (You might even try tying it off as a crop top.) Here are a few suggestions to help you complete the ensemble:

Beach Daze Headwrap
H&M Denim Shirt
+ High Waist White Skinny Jeans
Tahari Jackie Flats

Though Hardy is known as a fashion 'icon', she has been quoted in a past BBC Radio interview saying:
I didn't enjoy it at all . . . It is quite impossible to stand — to be admired too much — it is not a normal situation...I don't like that at all...I am not comfortable with my professional life really, so the word 'icon' — it's as though you were talking about someone else, it's not me really . . . I feel happy when I'm on my bed, in my room with a good book.

In case you're hungry for more 60s and 70s fashion, here are some similar artists whose style will rock your socks off. Think tanks, tees, stripes, bell-bottoms, loafers, and casual, casual, cuteness.

Model, Twiggy, might be the first to come to mind when you think of penciled on lashes, but Birkin rocks the look just as well! Maybe you should give it a try too?!
